Tuesday, March 27, 7:00pm at Maryland Hall
The Mayor has introduced next years proposed budget to the City Council. This year’s budget includes a tax rate hike over 17%, a decrease in spending through the general fund, and increase in the number of city employees, and token payments towards the underfunded pension and post employment benefits programs. Ward One encourages all our residents to learn about the budget and develop informed opinions on the City’s budget.
In lieu of Ward One’s regular monthly meeting Annapolitans for a Better Community, the Eastport Civic Association, and the Ward One Residents’ Association invite you to the second citizen’s meeting designed to explore and inform all of us on the City budget and its context relative to the City’s finances. ABC is organizing a panel of speakers to explain the budget and answer questions from the audience. We all need to understand the issues so that we can discuss our City’s future with our elected representatives. Please join us at Maryland Hall on at 7pm on March 27.
