Ratification Day

Saturday, January 14, Annapolis Bookstore and Maryland State House, 2pm

Mark Croatti, Instructor of American Government at the United States Naval Academy, will present a talk on Saturday, January 14 at 2:00pm at The Annapolis Bookstore on the significance of Ratification Day, when the Continental Congress approved the Treaty of Paris, formally ending the Revolutionary War with Great Britain and officially beginning America’s independence as a new nation-state.  The audience will have the opportunity to sign a color duplicate of the Treaty of Paris and vote to ratify it by acclamation before embarking on a public tour of the State House at 3:00pm with Mr. Croatti to see the Old Senate Chamber, where the ratification took place.
