Community Focus

Proposed Zoning Changes

WORA supports thoughtful updates to Annapolis’s zoning code and recognizes the value of simplifying outdated or redundant zoning districts. Growth, adaptive reuse, and preservation can work together to keep Annapolis economically vibrant while protecting its historic character.

We are, however, concerned about the proposed elimination of the C1-A and C2P zoning districts within Annapolis’s Historic District. These areas are central to the historic character and identity of Annapolis, making changes to their underlying zoning particularly significant.
